Start at the top, answer honestly, stop when you hit a blue box. Continuous measurement on one branch, discontinuous sampling on the other, with what each one costs you spelled out rather than hidden.
Page two is the same thing as a table for when you want to look something up instead of walking the tree, including what each system measures, when to reach for it, and what it quietly gets wrong.
Partial interval overestimates. Whole interval underestimates. Momentary time sampling is the cheapest and the least biased of the three. The tree makes you say which trade-off you are choosing.
